Grandma Sylvia's cooking bible was the cookbook "Thoughts for Buffets." As Recky says, there is not a bad recipe in there. This French Onion Bread was often served as either an appetizer or with the main meal.
INGREDIENTS:
1 large loaf French Bread
1/2 cup grated onion
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup mayonnaise

HOW TO:
Combine onion, cheese and mayo. Slice bread 1-1/2 inches thick; spread with the onion mixture.
Heat under the broiler for a few minutes until golden brown. Serve hot.
